Abortion Statistics
- Dec 10, 2009 -
While studies indicate that a growing number of Americans believe that abortion on demand should be restricted and that the number of abortions per year have been declining since 1990, there are still over a million babies aborted each year in the U.S.
This unique look at abortion statistics attempts to estimate the number of children aborted as a percentage of the total number of babies conceived. As far as we know, this information has not been compiled and made public. With this analysis, we can say with a certain level of confidence, that in the year 2000, 24.44 percent of the babies conceived were put to death at the hands of an abortionist.
The “Total Babies Conceived” column does not include those babies that were miscarried (spontaneous/natural abortion) and as much of the data is estimated, this is not an exact accounting. At press time, complete data was available only through 2004 for this analysis of abortion statistics.
