Evangelicals for Darfur

There is widespread agreement that the ongoing deadly conflict in Darfur will not be resolved without intervention from nations around the world. With hundreds of thousands killed and millions displaced and dependent on humanitarian aid for survival, people of faith cannot say they did not know. Not since the Rwandan genocide of 1994 has the world seen such a calculated campaign of displacement, starvation, rape, and mass slaughter. That is why the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (SBC) has joined other evangelical groups in calling for immediate international action to address this human tragedy in Africa.

I hear that stopping the genocide would seem like another war on another Islamic nation - so could the US not be stepping in because this would again be the US stepping into Middle East Affairs (N.Africa) without their consent. I’m all for the stopping of the genocide, but could that be one of the biggest reasons there is no action?  I pray it stops.
