Join September 19 Nationwide Simulcast to Protect Marriage

By Richard Land - Sep 10, 2004 - comment -

On Sunday, September 19th, as the U. S. House of Representatives prepares to vote on the “Marriage Protection Amendment,” formerly called the “Federal Marriage Amendment,” your church is invited to participate in the “Battle for Marriage III” rally. This informative event, designed to mobilize Christians on the issue of same-sex “marriage,” will be hosted by the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the Family Research Council, along with other allies in the pro-family movement.
The rally will be held at three locations, with First Baptist Church in Springdale, Ark. – where Ronnie Floyd serves as pastor – operating as the base site. Focus on the Family’s James Dobson is scheduled to speak there. Two other sites-David Jeremiah’s Shadow Mountain Community Church in San Diego and a strategic location in Washington, D.C.-will serve as remote locations. Richard Land of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council are scheduled to speak from Washington, D.C.

Debate in the House of Representatives on the amendment likely will take place the week of Sept. 20 or Sept. 27. This simulcast will help equip your church to influence the outcome of this vote.

This is an issue that demands our attention. Please encourage your church and community to get involved. There are several ways to participate – satellite TV, webcast and radio. To find out how you and your church can receive this important simulcast, go to WeVoteValues.com

I pray that you and your church will join us for this very special event. Time is short. Let’s join together again on September 19, find out about the latest developments in this must-win battle, and learn how to preserve the family as God intended it.
