On Health Care Reform and Abortion
- Jul 24, 2009
In their frenzied push to remake the state of health care in America, it appears congressional leaders and the White House intend to mandate that every health plan include abortion coverage as a standard insurance benefit. If they succeed, the lives of even more unborn children will be a risk and pro-life doctors and hospitals may find it impossible to stay in business and honor their pro-life convictions. Abortion centers will appear all over the country. State restrictions on abortion will be nullified and abortion centers could be as numerous as the clinics that are now inside many drug stores.
It's one thing to search for ways to reform health care. It is another thing entirely to make abortion even more mainstream and acceptable under the guise of helping the uninsured and trimming healthcare costs. We must stop this pro-abortion agenda in its tracks. This is why I joined a host of pro-family and pro-life leaders on a webcast July 23. If you missed the Webcast, you can listen to the event now.
I wanted you to have the opportunity to hear what I had to say on this most important topic.
This Web event is only a beginning. It is imperative that people of faith engage our nation’s leaders on this issue while there is still time and while they are home in their districts during the August recess.
