Statement on the Importance of November 7th

By Richard Land - Oct 27, 2006 - 4

Elections make a difference! Whoever wins on November 7th, it will have tremendous consequences on the nation and the nation’s families. A whole host of issues will be impacted, such as the sanctity of human life, the Marriage Protection Amendment, traditional marriage issues, federal court nominees, the federal tax burden on families, and national security issues, such as the Patriot Act. Voters need to be informed on where candidates stand on these and other issues. Then, they need to vote their values, their beliefs, and their convictions.

What happens when the only ones who TRULY represent my values, beliefs, and convictions are pushed out on the fringes and labeled as loose cannons while the members of both major political parties continue to merge together into a wasteful, Godless entity? I disagree that whoever wins will make an “enormous” impact. Ex: The GOP used to be the party of less government and a defender of individual rights. Now, they are out of control spenders and our national government is larger than it has ever been. It’s only a matter of time until they begin to compromise on important social issues…in fact it has already begun.

It’s hard to be a conservative Christian when one major party is liberal and the other is moving in that direction at a pretty swift pace.  God help us!!

As a conservative christian I find it so hard to believe that a “christian” could pobbibly vote for a candidate whose “party” supports abortion, homosexuality and social progressive programs. I agree that I am disappointed with the current administration and the repiblican contolled housese, however, the alternative would be to vote for pure evil, against my deep rooted convictions. We need to prey for our current leaders and thank God we have a christian president.

The 16 years since the 1994 elections which gave the repubs the majority have proven that they were either liars or inept. They were voted in on the promise of reduced spending & across the board cuts in government, as well as many other things that they never even pursued.
I refuse to hold my nose when I vote. I will spend the time I would have wasted at the polling place doing something constructive.
Maybe one day the republicans will get a clue. Maybe not.

I find it so hard to believe that as a Christian, you walk this earth with so much judgement. Jesus did not do that. You choose a few passages of the bible to promote your hate.

I will never understand how one becomes a fanatical, hatred-filled, militant, angry Christian after reading about Jesus. Jesus was and is love and peace.

With love, your homosexual, peace-loving daughter
