The Devil’s Playground

Pornography is like a ravenous cancer destroying modern society. It is one of the most wicked and powerful weapons in Satan’s arsenal as he seeks to encourage an ever-increasing sexual lust that enslaves and consumes its victims. Through the Internet we are faced not only with a tidal wave of hard-core pornography, but with a subterranean-like, electronic river of pornographic slime that is pure, undistilled evil that threatens our nation’s basic moral fabric.

You can’t play safely around the edges of this issue. Once a person is ensnared in the alluring trap of pornography, extraction is possible only by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pornography is perhaps the greatest challenge Christians face today. It is one of the hidden causes of divorce, and thus contributes to the decline of society. Material that not long ago was obtained only under the cloak of darkness or in a brown paper envelope is now available to anyone with Internet access. Christians have an opportunity to be “salt” and “light” (Matthew 5:13-16). Salt does everything it can to stop the degeneration and the rot of pornography. But we’ve also got to be “light,” telling the story of why God created us as sexual beings and of His wonderful design for sex within the confines of holy matrimony.
