We will not be silent
- Dec 26, 2008 - 2
At the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), we are particularly grateful for all that God accomplished in our area of ministry in 2008. And, as we enter into 2009, we recognize the people of God cannot afford to be silent in the face of a full-scale assault upon Judeo-Christian values. We are committed both to communicating a scriptural response for the local church and to be “salt” and “light” in places where the debate rages, such as Washington, D.C.
Looking ahead, we understand the key to a victorious future is not found in legislative halls or executive mansions, but in each God-honoring home and Bible-believing church around the country. Yet that does not mean we are to withdraw from society and cease pushing against that which threatens our faith, our family, and our nation. We promise to remain actively engaged and faithful in presenting the Truth in our nation’s capital and everywhere God gives us a platform.
We count it a special blessing from God to be able to serve you and your family. As you are considering your end-of-year giving, we hope you will prayerfully consider the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission for your tax deductible gift.
While the future may look dim for our culture, we know that God, in His mercy, provides us hope eternal in His Son. Our prayer is that in the year ahead, more and more people will meet the King of kings and Lord of lords and that, with their lives transformed, our nation will never be the same.
Steadfast in His service,
Richard Land and the staff of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission

Dr. Land, It is a privledge that you have extended a gracious comment section to all who wish to participate.
I hope to stimulate some to read more of your lectures, sermons, and ministry letters.
Although I sometimes disagree with the term Judeo-Christain values as being some typeology of completed agreement. Jews and Muslims are together in trying to destroy our belief in Jesus as Lord and the Chosen Messiah by changing childrens text books in suttle ways.
The only thing that we are in complete unison in the sight God is total depravity, because without accepting Jesus Christ as (A.D.) we are all lost.

I am concerned that no one has responded to this article by Dr. Land. The article though short does identify some unethical thoughts of viewing the strength of God’s kingdom and its effect on this nation in the halls of congress. If we believe some Christian men are also legislators, then we should write letters to them through faithfulness that God will bless our country in spite of the dogs and bad people outside the gates of the Kingdom as the last chapter in the bible says.
Your brother,
James
