While the House of Representatives has passed a bill promoting its own version of health care reform (at least the version that a razor thin majority embrace), what reform really looks like is still being debated. Despite the tone of the debate, few people are denying that responsible reform is needed to address rising health care costs and the pool of uninsured Americans. The ERLC's Richard Land believes there is a need for a "universal threshold of health care for Americans," but it doesn't look like what the House just voted on. Among other things, he says wellness, including rewarding individuals for avoiding risky and unhealthy behavior, should be at the core of any reform measure.
