World Hunger - Central America

By Jerry Price - Oct 1, 2005

“Even though the project is in its first year, it has already had an impact on alleviating hunger. More than 700 families have been able to store bean and rice seed and establish a cooperative system that guarantees their seed for the coming season. Animals and pure water wells have contributed to increased food production and better health security. The one bridge that was built will allow farmers to transport their harvest and import needed dry goods into the village. The families have received training in farming and husbandry techniques. The success of the seed project has encouraged other families to get involved. Pastors have used the seed project to include families that they are trying to witness to. The Seeds of Hope project is an integrated ongoing agricultural and health project that should continue for some time.”
