Evangelicals should unite to voice concern about the massacre in Darfur. However, Islamist dictator Omar el-Bashir and his accomplices are the thugs responsible for these atrocities, not our President. This genocide requires global confrontation and George Bush should be at the forefront of the effort, but advertisements placed in several prominent newspapers smack of leftist propaganda and give the impression that George Bush bears the greatest responsibility for this human tragedy. The real bad guys are never identified. Also, why not call upon all national and international leaders, whose cooperation is needed, by asking them to join in taking action? Why not pressure media outlets worldwide to raise public awareness about this holocaust? Has George Bush suddenly been anointed Savior of the World II? Given Jim Wallis’ history and his harsh criticism of Mr. Bush, I suspect that isn’t the case. Some Christian leaders appear to have been manipulated for a political end.

We are America, and Bush anointed himself...I don’t think it was an attack, I think people are just frustrated that no one is doing anything, I realize that Bush is a more than decent man and no doubt trying to get through the political red-tape and help the people in Darfur, but a coxing from the evangelicals (who make a large base and don’t always speak up on social justice issues) seems like reasonable and overdue action.

We as baptists and evangelicals should be unfettered in our criticism of political leaders when they are wrong or in this case slow. A criticism of the Bush administration’s policy is warranted here and we cannot remain silent because we identify Bush as “one of our own”. Our responsibility is to God’s justice not to preserving political alliances. I applaud this cooperative effort.

The silent voice of this massacre plays on my moral conscious everyday, to not act is to deny christianty, what can a single christian do to assist? How can I get my government in Australia to act? Kevin Rudd, leader of the oppostion is a christian who apparently lives in the way of God, what can he do now and when he is elected as leader of Australia later this year? This issue tests what our faith and religion stand for, the reason why Jesus died for us.God bless Darfur Christians as they wait for our mercy. Angela

I marched today during the olympic torch tour in San Francisco with my 8 foot cross and Darfur poster to protest China’s lack of participation to bringing an end to the killing of my fellow Christians in Darfur.
I guess deep inside, I marched to voice my opinion on Muslims killing Christians in Darfur.
I’m so tired of hearing about our war crimes in Iraq and the killing of innocent civilians. Are we ahead or behind Sadaam Husein in number of innocents killed?
There is no fighting in Darfur! Just the slaughter of half a million innocent, peace loving people.
No “Innocent” doesn’t include radical muslims killing in the name of Jihad.
I interacted with many people with many different views during my 10 mile march, but only two indididuals on seperate occasions with whom I received very negative reaction from. In both cases they seemed to be of middle eastern decent, and in both cases they seemed very upset about “The Cross”. Sorry, but as they say “Truth hurts”.
