I contacted your office this morning and requested that the SBC publish a letter directly to Congress. This letter should state that as representatives of this association you would oppose any health care bill that did not explicitly restrict funding for abortion. The timing of this important notification to our nations leaders is critical since the bill out of the Finance Committee will soon be up for debate and vote.

Thank you in advance for taking my concern and being very vocal against this issue in the past.

Why hasn’t our SBC National Leadership been publically vocal about the inclusion of abortions into the Obamacare bill? I saw a brief statement about it on this web site but the leaders of the SBC have been glaringly absent from nationally denouncing this portion fo the bill. Why is our SBC leadership allowing the Catholic Church leadership to be the only vocal apponents of abortion in this bill? Many of us work very hard at the local level to fund and staff campaigns and clinics to try to prevent abortions. It would be nice to know that the SBC has our backs at the national level!
