summit on sports gambling

Sports gambling imposes multiple implications on every level of human life—personal, institutional, and societal—and Christians must consider how to respond biblically. The gambling industry is rooted in predation, greed, covetousness, and idolatry. Additionally, the addictive nature of gambling leads to physical, emotional, and relational harm, particularly within families and communities.

Since the 2018 Supreme Court decision legalizing sports gambling, betting on sports has become widespread. Gambling companies sponsor games, sports content, and are aggressively pursuing and creating more gamblers.

Pastors and churches are dealing with the fallout of this new vice that is destroying families, preying on young men, and hurting healthy sporting competition.

Join us for a free lunch event as we share how to help families and congregations as they encounter this issue.
