In our chaotic public square, the U.S Supreme Court often makes a lot of headlines with its moves. Many decisions made by the nine justices directly affect Southern Baptist pastors and Christian organizations. But Supreme Court decisions are often confusing and hard to understand.

Please join us on Thursday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m. ET for a special online event called Baptists and the Court: A Review of Recent SCOTUS Decisions.

You’ll hear from:

  • Kristen Waggoner, General Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom
  • Montse Alvarado, VP and Executive Director at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty
  • Chelsea Patterson Sobolik, Acting Policy Director at the ERLC
  • Brent Leatherwood, Moderator

These panelists bring decades of combined experience navigating legal issues. Kristen Waggoner has successfully argued numerous key religious liberty cases at the Supreme Court, including the notable Masterpiece Cakeshop case, while Montse Alvarado has led key initiatives that have helped secure major religious liberty victories. Finally, Chelsea Sobolik has years of experience navigating complex judicial issues on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

During this event, you will learn more about how recent Supreme Court decisions will affect you and your ministry. You will also hear how the ERLC plays a key role in advocating for Southern Baptists at all levels of the court system, including at the Supreme Court.
