Does giving from outside organizations have an effect on the ministry and vision of the ERLC?

No, gifts from external donors or organizations do not affect the positions the ERLC takes, the policies it advocates for, or the vision it pursues. The ERLC’s mission and ministry assignment have been established by the messengers of the Southern Baptist Convention and the ERLC only receives gifts for projects consistent with that mission and ministry assignment, all of which is overseen by the trustees messengers elect (see above).
The vast majority of funds for the ERLC come directly from the Cooperative Program. The remaining amount largely comes from individual donors and organizations, such as Baptist state conventions who give to the ERLC’s Psalm 139 Project to place ultrasound machines in pregnancy resource centers.
