Daniel J. Hurst

Daniel J. Hurst is director of Medical Professionalism, Ethics, and Humanities and assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. He was previously on the faculty at UAB where he was involved in the xenotransplantation program performing studies on viewpoints toward receiving a pig organ. He has a forthcoming edited volume on ethical, regulatory, and social aspects of xenotransplantation to be published by Springer. He earned his Ph.D. in bioethics at Duquesne University, his MSc in global health and infectious diseases at The University of Edinburgh, and a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
