The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention President Dr. Richard Land and Vice President of Public Policy and Research, Dr. Barrett Duke, co-wrote a prayer guide calling on all Christians to commit to a week of prayer in wake of the Supreme Court hearings on Proposition 8 and the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA) March 26 and 27.
“We should not think that our nation will escape Gods judgment if we redefine what God has already defined,” said Land and Duke. “We are certain that the omniscient and omnipotent God is aware of our nations debate about marriage and that He is watching what we do. As the Supreme Court hears the arguments on this crucial issue, we ask you to join us in prayer.”
Land and Duke have created prayer guidelines for each day of the week asking Christians to read scripture, pray and ask God to be with each Supreme Court justice as they hear arguments on these issues.
