Moore, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, accepted an invitation to join the board of directors of the Becket Funda nonprofit, publicinterest legal and educational institute established in 1994 to protect the free expression of all religious traditions, and an organization that has been called one of the premier public-interest law firms working to defend religious freedom from encroachments by government.
The Becket Fund is untiring in standing up for religious liberty for all, said Moore. I am honored to join this great team, and I pray to represent the spirit of our freedom-fighter Baptist forebears such as Thomas Helwys, Isaac Backus and John Leland.”
William P. Mumma, president and chairman of the board for the Becket Fund commented on Dr. Moores decision to join the board of directors.
