Countermoves Podcast Episode

On today’s episode, I discuss the topic of public theology with one of my good friends, Bruce Ashford. “Public Theology” is a term you probably hear very often, but have little context for what, exactly, is included in the category of “Public Theology.”

Bruce Ashford is Provost and Professor of Theology & Culture at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is author of Every Square Inch: An Introduction to Cultural Engagement for Christians and One Nation Under God: A Christian Hope for American Politics. His most recent book is Letters to an American Christian, which publishes in June.

He is also a Research Fellow at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, a Fellow in Theology at the St. George’s Center for Biblical and Public Theology, and a participant in the Dulles Colloquium of the Institute on Religion & Public Life.

He lives with his wife and three kids in North Carolina.
