Serving your church in the public square
The ERLC exists to assist your church by helping you understand the moral demands of the gospel, apply Christian principles to moral and social problems and questions of public policy, and to promote religious liberty in cooperation with churches and other Southern Baptist entities.
The ERLC comes alongside SBC churches and leaders to equip them to address the essential ethical and moral questions of our day with confidence and biblical fidelity.

Evan Lenow
President
Dr. Evan Lenow is the president of The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. He previously served as associate professor and chair of Christian Studies as well as director of the Institute for Christian Leadership at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. He also directed the Clinton Extension of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary on the Mississippi

What is the erlc?
The ERLC represents a concerted effort to bring God’s Word to bear on issues of moral importance in our society.
We see ourselves as missionaries sent by Southern Baptists to a confusing and chaotic public square in order to bring the hope of the gospel. We pray our words and our tone are a source of hope and light, not driven by politics, but pointing to the goodness of our Father, the gift of his Son, and the hope of his Kingdom.
