Letters in Support of Including Pro-life Priorities During an Election Year

Letters sent to the RNC and the DNC on July 3, 2024

Pro-life Priorities

Historically, at least one party typically includes pro-life priorities in its platform. This commitment to protecting precious and vulnerable preborn lives remains a top priority for the ERLC as we work to see abortion in any form made both unthinkable and illegal. The federal government already exhibits this authority and responsibility throughout its current operations, such as government funding.

The nation’s two largest political parties—the Republican National Convention (RNC) and the Democratic National Convention (DNC)—will meet to determine what policies will be the official party commitments moving forward. Both parties will include policy stances on their official party platform. During an election year, these platforms are more than solely a messaging tool; they serve as a commitment to the American people regarding what the party will be working toward.

As a result, the ERLC sent a letter to each political party encouraging them to include pro-life priorities in the official party platform.

The letters were sent on July 3, 2024.
