Leave a Legacy of Hope
Stories of Southern Baptists Engaging Culture
We are all called to bring the hope of the gospel to the cultural, moral, and ethical difficulties of this world. The ERLC serves Southern Baptists as they engage with their community, advocate for the good of their families and their neighbors, and share the hope of Christ. Together, we can leave a legacy of hope.
Stories of Hope
Hope for a secular college campus
Hope for refugees facing new beginnings
Hope for moms in unplanned pregnancies
Hope for the previously incarcerated
Our Legacy of Hope series highlights stories of individuals who found an ally in the ERLC, as we provided the timely resources and biblical encouragement they needed.
Hope for a secular college campus
Meet Elizabeth, a graduate student at a large public university.
When Elizabeth enrolled in her graduate program, she knew it would be different than the Christian college she had attended. But she was surprised by the degree to which secular, liberal ideas about gender and sexuality had made their way into the classroom and campus life. Watch Elizabeth’s story, and give to help us leave a legacy of hope.
Hope for refugees facing new beginnings
‘What will our church’s role be in bringing some hope into this situation?’
Pastor Eric Costanzo was surprised to realize the number of refugees who lived within walking distance from South Tulsa Baptist Church when he arrived in 2016, during the height of the Syrian refugee crisis. Unsure of what he could do to help in this situation, he prayerfully asked questions. Watch this church’s story, and give to help us leave a legacy of hope.
Hope for moms in unplanned pregnancies
Pregnancy Resource Centers are the ‘heroes of the pro-life movement.’
Pregnancy resource centers became the front line of the pro-life movement in the decades following Roe v. Wade. In the early 2000’s, they recognized ultrasound machines as a life-saving tool in the fight for life. Watch this pro-life story, and give to help us leave a legacy of hope.
Hope for the previously incarcerated
Meet Jon Kelly, pastor of Chicago West Bible Church.
When you walk into Chicago West Bible Church, it is not uncommon to hear Pastor Jon Kelly talk about his youth spent on city streets or his years in prison. Yet, God had a different future for him. Watch Pastor Jon’s story and give to help us leave a legacy of hope.
Your unrestricted gift to the ERLC will provide the organization resources to fulfill its mission.
The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission exists to assist your churches by helping you understand the moral demands of the gospel, apply Christian principles to moral and social problems and questions of public policy, and to promote religious liberty in cooperation with churches and other Southern Baptist entities.
The financial resources of the ERLC are stewarded under the guidance of our board of trustees. Our trustees are independently selected by the Southern Baptist Convention to represent a wide variety of Southern Baptist churches from across the country.
In addition to financial accountability to our board, the ERLC complies with the standards of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
