No. Quite the opposite. By nature, briefs are narrowly tailored to address the constitutional question or questions raised in the case. Joining a brief indicates narrow agreement with other joiners (called amici) on the argument made in that specific brief in regard to the constitutional question. Amici may or may not align on other issues–legal or otherwise. So, just because the ERLC is on the same brief as other organizations, it does not mean the ERLC supports, endorses, or aligns with all their positions. Joining a brief only means that we agree with the other amici on what is argued in the brief.
