WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 14, 2018—The fourth annual Evangelicals for Life conference will be held January 17–18, 2019, at McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Va., where more than 30 leading evangelical speakers will convene to talk about issues of human dignity, including abortion, adoption, foster care, euthanasia, human trafficking and other assaults on the vulnerable around the world.

Special guests Steven and Mary Beth Chapman, Keith and Kristyn Getty and David Platt have recently been added to the programming line up.

Members of the national press are invited to attend and cover EFL 2019. Please email Elizabeth Bristow at [email protected] to receive a special offer.

Steven Curtis Chapman is a multi-GRAMMY Award winning artist. He and his wife, Mary Beth, are founders of Show Hope and adoption advocates. They will participate in a benefit concert Jan. 16 at 7:00 p.m. EST at no additional cost for EFL attendees. During the concert, funds will be raised for the ERLC’s Psalm 139 Projectwhich places ultrasound machines in pregnancy resource centers. Every dollar raised at the benefit concert will go to place ultrasound machines and provide training for those machines. Platt, who serves as pastor of McLean Bible Church, will also speak during the benefit concert.

Keith and Kristyn Getty are preeminent modern, Irish hymn-writers known for songs such as “In Christ Alone” and “Speak O Lord, “ sung by an estimated 100 million in churches around the world each year. The Gettys will also join the program Jan. 17 to talk about their song, “Psalm 139,” and Ireland’s recent vote to overturn the country’s abortion ban.

EFL speakers will participate in keynote addresses, panel discussions and breakout sessions to equip attendees to stand for life in their communities. Speakers include:

  • Russell Moore, president, Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission
  • Kristen Waggoner, senior vice president of the U.S. Legal Division and General Counsel, Alliance Defending Freedom
  • J. D. Greear, president, Southern Baptist Convention; pastor, The Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
  • Dhati Lewis, lead pastor of Blueprint Church in Atlanta,Ga. and the executive director of Community Restoration with the North American Mission Board
  • Karen Ellis, president and co-founder, Makazi Institute
  • Thabiti Anyabwile, pastor, Anacostia Baptist Church
  • Amy Ford, co-founder and president, Embrace Grace

“Evangelicals for Life exists because a widespread commitment to life doesn’t,” said Russell Moore. “When much of society would like to keep certain kinds of people invisible, unborn children in particular, Christians must be those who stand up for life at all its stages. That's what we do at this event, and it’s why I look forward to gathering at this event each year, standing for these issues, marching for life and advocating with elected officials. Because we follow Jesus, we believe we must prioritize the vulnerable in our churches, neighborhoods and in our laws.”

Evangelicals for Life is an event hosted by the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission in conjunction with the March for Life. Registration is open and a complete list of EFL speakers and bios can be found online as well as a schedule of events highlighting speaker topics.
