How you can stand for life in Colorado’s upcoming election

Understanding the pro-abortion constitutional amendment on your ballot

Standing for life in the upcoming election in Colorado is vital in light of a pro-abortion amendment called the “Colorado Right to Abortion.” If passed, this amendment would establish a fundamental “right” to abortion in the state’s constitution. It would ensure that Colorado remains one of the most pro-abortion states in the nation.

Why should Christians stand for life?

Christians are called to uphold the sanctity of life, recognizing that human life is sacred because every human being is created in the image of God (Gen. 1:27). Scripture affirms that God knows us before we are formed in the womb (Jer. 1:5) and that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by him (Ps. 139). Christians guided by the truths of God’s Word should recognize the threat abortion represents for our preborn neighbors and should stand for life.

Stand for life in Colorado

A “no” vote prevents abortion from being enshrined into the constitution as a fundamental right. Colorado currently allows abortion through all stages of pregnancy.

A “yes” vote supports amending the Colorado Constitution to enshrine a “right to abortion.” Additionally, if passed, this amendment would expand access to abortion by allowing health insurance plans, including government-funded plans, to cover abortions and would make it more challenging to pass and implement future pro-life laws.

How can I vote in Colorado?

  • Election Day is ⁦Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024⁩
  • In-person voting: You can find your voting location, check to see if you are registered to vote, and update your voter registration information on the Colorado secretary of state’s website.
  • Voting by mail: Every registered voter receives a mail ballot. You can check the status of your mail-in ballot at www.GoVoteColorado.gov

What can you do to stand for life in Colorado?

There are several ways you can promote a culture of life in Colorado:

  • Pray for wisdom for Colorado voters, for the defeat of this amendment, and for a robust culture of life to take hold.
  • Stand for life at the ballot. The amendment only needs 55% approval of voters to pass, so every vote against this measure counts in the effort to protect life.
  • Educate others about the true nature of this proposal.
  • Advocate by contacting your local representatives and encouraging them to stand firm in their defense of life.
  • Support pro-life organizations by volunteering with or donating to those who are actively working to promote a culture of life in Colorado.
