Abortion is on the Ballot in Arizona in 2024 Election
Understanding the pro-abortion constitutional amendment on your ballot
Standing for life in Arizona is vital in light of a significant threat to human dignity in the form of a ballot initiative titled “Arizona Abortion Access Act.”
If passed, this would amend the state’s constitution to enshrine the right to abortion in Arizona and would make it one of the most extreme pro-abortion states in the nation since it allows for abortion for “mental health” reasons.
Resources for Churches in Arizona
Christians are called to uphold the sanctity of life, recognizing that human life is sacred because every human being is created in the image of God (Gen. 1:27).

What is this ballot initiative in Arizona?
An amendment to the state constitution titled “Arizona Abortion Access Act” is before voters in November’s election.
This initiative would establish a "fundamental right to abortion" and prevent the state from enacting pro-life policies before a preborn child has reached viability.
Following fetal viability, the amendment also provides an exception to any pro-life laws if a doctor determines an abortion is necessary to preserve the "life or physical or mental health" of a pregnant individual.
If passed, these measures would make it increasingly difficult for government officials to create and enforce pro-life laws.
50% of voters approval is required to pass this state constitutional amendment.
Prayer Guide for the pro-life movement
Praying for Life
Christians are called to stand for life and seek justice for the most vulnerable among us—and one of the ways we can do that is by praying for life. In prayer, we can unite for the sanctity of life, focusing on:
- the preborn,
- their families, and
- the many individuals involved in tirelessly promoting a culture of life in our world today.
Let us pray with hope, faith, and love, trusting in God’s sovereignty and reflecting his heart for our neighbors.
