The ERLC is not beholden to any political party, but only serves Southern Baptists in working with policymakers and groups of all affiliations. Any meaningful work requires the ERLC to work with Republican, Democrat, and Independent government leaders, offices, and groups. This work is essential to fulfill the assigned mission of the ERLC, to share the Gospel, and to push forward policies related to life, religious liberty, marriage and family, and human dignity.
The ERLC often works with partisan groups and elected officials on specific issues through its various coalitions. The ERLC partners with any group, partisan or nonpartisan, on a case-by-case basis solely to push forward the interests of Southern Baptists.
