NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 10, 2014The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention received accreditation from the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). The ERLC is the fourth SBC entity to receive accreditation along with the International Mission Board, North American Mission Board and the Southern Baptist Foundation.
The ECFA, created in 1979, seeks to assist Christian organizations in validating their use of resources to fulfill Kingdom work.
We are pleased to receive the high honor of ECFA certification to validate that the ERLC is a good steward of Southern Baptist resources for the sake of the kingdom, said ERLCs Executive Vice President, Phillip Bethancourt.
ECFA members must meet the Seven Standards of Responsible StewardshipTM including integrity in fundraising and a board of governance.
