Why does the ERLC stand for life?

We believe in the dignity of every human life because each person is created in the image of God. We stand for life because we serve a God who rejoices in life and who brings about newness of life through the power of the gospel. Our work to save preborn babies and care for the vulnerable is vital to our mission.
How does the ERLC stand for life?

We stand for life in our communities
One of the main highlights of our pro-life efforts is our work to place ultrasound machines in pro-life pregnancy resource clinics. These lifesaving machines give pro-life workers a powerful tool for life and allow pregnant women to see the preborn baby growing inside them. We are currently working to place 50 ultrasound machines by the 50th anniversary of the disastrous Roe v. Wade decision in January 2023. We’ve already placed 31 machines!
We stand for life in the halls of Congress
Our D.C. team works tirelessly to advocate for pro-life legislation, including the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act, which would protect babies who are born alive as a result of a failed abortion. And as the spending process plays out in D.C., we’re continuously engaging policymakers to ensure no taxpayer dollars are used for abortions.
We stand for life in the Courts
On December 1, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case that could overturn the disastrous Roe v. Wade decision. The ERLC filed an amicus brief in that case asking the Supreme Court to reverse both Roe and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. Our team is also engaged in numerous other cases across the country involving funding for abortion clinics.
How can you stand for life with us?
We believe that abortion can end in our lifetime. Will you join us as we STAND FOR LIFE?
Here are three ways you can stand for life with us:
- Pray that the Lord will give you eyes to see the vulnerable in your own community.
- Seek out your local pregnancy resource center and see how you can join them in ministry.
- Donate funds to place life-saving ultrasound machines in pregnancy resource centers through the Psalm 139 Project.
