Through Psalm 139 Project, ERLC placed five sonogram machines in pregnancy resource centers in 2018

WASHINGTON, D.C., Dec. 18, 2018—Through a variety of efforts, the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, has encouraged Christians to honor and protect the dignity of all human life, from the unborn to the elderly in unprecedented ways in 2018. This charge will culminate at the upcoming 2019 Evangelicals for Life conference at McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Va., Jan. 16-18, 2019, where attendees will also participate in the 46th annual March for Life.

Through its Psalm 139 Project, the ERLC has been a part of the placement of five ultrasound machines in pregnancy resource centers across the country this year, in New Orleans, La.; Dallas, Texas; Liberty, Mo–near Kansas City and Baltimore, Md. In addition to the machines, the Psalm 139 Project provides for the training for those who will use them to serve the most vulnerable in their communities.

The fourth annual Evangelicals for Life conference will feature more than 30 leading evangelical speakers who will convene to talk about issues of human dignity, including abortion, adoption, foster care, euthanasia, human trafficking and other assaults on the vulnerable around the world.

“Evangelicals for Life exists because a widespread commitment to life doesn’t,” said Russell Moore, president of the ERLC. “When much of society would like to keep certain kinds of people invisible, unborn children in particular, Christians must be those who stand up for life at all its stages. Because we follow Jesus, we believe we must prioritize the vulnerable in our churches, neighborhoods, and in our laws.”
