ERLC to Host Event on ‘Sexual Abuse and the Southern Baptist Convention’ During Annual SBC Meeting in Birmingham

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 3, 2019—The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention will host an event on “Sexual Abuse and the Southern Baptist Convention,” during the annual SBC meeting in Birmingham, Ala., Monday, June 10 at 9:00 p.m. CT in the South Exhibit Hall at the BJCC

The event is free to members of the national press and will feature a candid conversation between the featured speakers on how to talk about abuse, care for the abused and prevent abuse in the church. 

Event speakers include:

  • Russell Moore, president, ERLC
  • J.D. Greear, president, Southern Baptist Convention and pastor, Summit Church
  • Beth Moore, author, Bible teacher, founder of Living Proof Ministries
  • Rachael Denhollander, attorney, advocate and educator
  • Susan Codone, senior associate dean of academic affairs, Mercer University School of Medicine
